Equity Animated: Disrupting Implicit Bias in Interview Protocols with the Support of Video

The staff at Next Day were great to work with and produced a stellar product. They worked very quickly to address our feedback and maintained great communication throughout the process. I would work with them again in a heartbeat!

Project Brief:

Embarking on a mission to foster a culture of equity and awareness, our collaboration with Gates Chili Central School District resulted in a powerful whiteboard-style animation. Tailored for staff members participating in interview committees, this educational video serves as a comprehensive guide to interview protocols and the nuanced realm of implicit bias.

One of the central focuses of the animation was to unravel the concept of implicit bias. By visually exploring specific examples of bias manifesting during interviews, the video equipped staff members with a heightened awareness, enabling them to recognize and interrupt bias in real-time.

Beyond the whiteboard, the animation sought to leave a lasting impact on the institution. By cultivating a sense of equity among staff members, the project aimed to shape their approach to interviews and contribute to an environment where implicit bias is disrupted. The ultimate goal was to set a precedent for a more inclusive and equitable future within the Gates Chili Central School District.
