Illustrating Awesomeness Scholarship

Summary

This is a scholarship opportunity for young women of color who are actively working to change the world. The scholarship is awarded in winter to be put towards the recipient’s spring semester.

2 Awards of $750

Criteria

• Applicants must be young women or gender non-conforming individuals of color who are currently enrolled or who will begin college/university in the spring semester. Current high school seniors with a semester of high school remaining will not be considered.
• Applicants must attend college in the United States.
• This scholarship is intended for undergraduate students.

Tips for getting started on your application:

The form will ask applicants for a 500 word essay OR a web-hosted video response (time limit: 3 minutes) to answer the following question: “Who are you, and why does your vision for a better world matter?”

Your submission will be evaluated based on the following factors:

1. What you will do: clarity of your goal/vision/Big Idea for Change, and how you will get there
2. Why it matters: your personal connection to that vision
3. How it matters: the potential positive impact of that vision
4. Bonus points: demonstration of clarity, inventiveness, authenticity, and partnership (our Next Day Animations values)

Less than 10% of our submissions each year are video submissions. Consider this strategy to stand out among the crowd.
