Birth to Five’s Impressive Recruitment Video
Our animation for Birth to Five Illinois has three times the views of their next highest video. It’s added subscribers to their channel and has been watched for over forty hours. But that’s not even the most impressive part of their story.
They used the video as a key part of their communications during the largest time of growth in their organization. They went from a team of 3 to a team of 128.
Sophie Kershaw-Patilla was hired during that period and talks about the influence of the video on that process:
“I saw a few social media posts about Birth to Five Illinois, so I got curious and clicked the video link to learn more. Seeing and hearing information in an easy-to-watch animation made the organization feel relatable and approachable. I was inspired by the messaging, so I completed an Interest Form to join one of the Birth to Five Illinois Councils in my Region.”
Little did I know that my interest and involvement was just beginning. As I got more involved, I realized that I wanted to be part of the organization! But to make that dream come true, they needed marketing that would capture attention, drive, profitability, and inspire investors.
We collaborated on a slick, smart animation that outlined their vision. With a charismatic voiceover and a persuasive script, we captured how their innovative work will change tech. By integrating screenshots with stunning illustrations, the artistry of the video empowers viewers to see themselves and their organizations in the tool.
After completing the video, we had a launch consultation, where we shared tips and tricks for mastering SEO and social media – plus, getting the right eyes on their animation. Armed with their video and our advice about how to make the best use of it, they closed a $7 million seed round with CoinFund as a major investor.

Blending live footage with custom, hand-drawn animations, we created a video that would be easy to share with everyone, from teachers to parents to alumni. They utilized their explainer video across newsletters, email, and web pages. Through humor-infused scripting and a playful concept featuring ‘hard-hitting’ interviewees, we transformed what could have been a mundane introduction into a delightful journey.
