Here at Next Day Animations, we spend a lot of time on social media, both consuming and creating content. Yeah, we’re in the business of video marketing, but we’re also people who own smartphones and like to share dumb GIFs. We’re both students and teachers of using social media to build a client base. Because, in theory, anyone who uses social media (that’s about 3 billion people and counting) is a potential client.
So… how do you increase your conversions and boost your sales or signups? We’ve distilled our advice down to these three hot tips.
Boost engagement.
Social media is, well, social. An effective marketing campaign compels people to share it with their friends. Plus, if people are engaging with your content, they’re getting to know, like, and trust your brand which will boost your conversion rate. If your posts aren’t getting people talking, then you’re going to have a hard time getting them to buy.
Video marketing drives more views, more engagement and more response than any other social posting option. So if you’re looking to create content which captures your audience’s attention and encourages engagement, you’re going to want to use video.
A like, share, or comment is the first step in turning a random person on the internet into a customer. Content that inspires action is your friend. Here are some ways your social media content can lead to engagement:
- Ask a question. Seems simple, but asking your audience their opinion encourages participation and builds your relationship.
- Leverage emotion. If your video makes someone feel something, they are more likely to share it.
- Use incentives. Running contests or giveaways through your social media can draw new people to your page.
Give value.
Be a trusted advisor, or the friendly neighborhood expert in your field. Use social media to share useful information that’s relevant to your audience.
If you’re a tech startup, post some tips and tricks in your area of expertise. If you’re fighting to save the whales, post some cool whale facts (even better if your post has a visual element, like an infographic). If you’re a dentist, have people ask their most pressing dental hygiene questions and answer them on Facebook or Instagram live. Or make a video that answers the most common misperceptions about flossing (am I supposed to get that spot behind my back molar or what?)
Valuable content gets shared a lot, which will help increase your reach. Sharing valuable content boosts your conversion rates because the valuable information lets your audience know that you’re an expert in your field. This in turn breeds trust. Even if they aren’t in need of your services right now, the next time they are, they will think of you first.
Use Video.
You knew it was coming, right? But here’s the deal: video works.
Videos are memorable because they engage more of our senses. We watch, listen, and read text simultaneously, and each element reinforces the others. Plus, a voiceover artist – a human voice – allows your audience to build trust and an emotional connection with your business before they even pick up the phone.
Videos also boost your SEO. It’s far easier to get your video to rank first on Google than a website. Why? Because there’s less competition. Plus, it’s easy to tag keywords to help your ideal clients find you – instead of the other way around.
And YouTube is the second most popular search engine behind Google – people are hungry for information in video form.
Videos convert leads and get results. A true story from one of our clients: “I sent my video out to six prospective leads. All six became paying clients. I’ve never had that happen before.” Over half of our clients return for another video. Why? Because videos get results.
