We actually share our Minneapolis co-working office with the environmental advocacy group Save the Boundary Waters, so we were thrilled when they asked to team up for a project. The challenge? To distill an important and complicated issue into a quick video that gives viewers a good sense of what’s happening and what they can do.
Working collaboratively, we talked about the emotional connection Minnesotans (and beyond) have with the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. We decided to take an approach that highlights the emotional story of why visitors love the area and th
e current threats to humans and wildlife.

It’s been incredibly fun to watch this video take off in the world. At the time I write this, the video has been viewed over 80,000 times, shared over 3.5K times and liked by thousands!
And my other favorite part? Coincidentally seeing this video in person at Save the Boundary Water’s booth at the Minnesota State Fair! (Located in the dairy building quite close to Princess Kay of the Milky Way who gets her head carved out of butter.)
Save the Boundary Waters is doing incredible work and we’re thrilled to be a part of that process.
